Women have always thought, more is better, when it comes to our makeup routine. Putting everything from our makeup bag onto our faces and if we don’t, we feel naked and unattractive, especially to the opposite sex. But what if I were to say, most guys like it natural?
We feel as though we need a fiery red lip to feel sexy, I am here to tell you that you don’t need all that to feel sexy, in fact, you need very little. You can wear makeup without looking like you are wearing the whole makeup counter and still look amazing. Accomplish that by going nude with your makeup.
If you stop to think, many A-listers and celebrities in Hollywood are going with this trend on the red carpet and it looks very sultry and chic. One of my personal favorite celebrities that master this glowing look is Jennifer Lopez, she highlights just the right areas on her face and it looks flawless.
Jessica Alba also makes the look effortless; she accentuates her eyes and nothing else.
Like anything else, you need a good base to start. This is where a good tinted moisturizer comes in (and lots of water for glowing complexion), I recommend Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer ($43, Sephora.com). It gives off a beautiful, natural glow to you skin. (If you want to go full natural, just hop out the door with this on and your set!) But, if tinted moisturizer isn’t your thing, then I would go with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($62, giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com) my obsession right now, it is a lightweight foundation that goes on seamlessly and you don’t even need powder!
To give the skin an additional glow, a good bronzer is definitely important. Orlane Bronzing Pressed Powder Soleil Cuivre 02 ($50, Orlane.com) it is a light bronzer that will give you that matte, but still natural glow to the face, without appearing heavy or orange. Just apply to the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead, think where the sun hits your face naturally.
Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color. For the cheeks, try a peachy hue; Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy ($26, Ulta.com) creates a warm, peach color to the look, with a hint of shimmer. Add a nude lip to the pack, try Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Insatiable Ivory ($30, Sephora.com), it leaves your lips hydrated and creamy.
Eyes are the windows to the soul, so we won’t forget them! Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette ($54, Ulta.com) is a go to for the nude look, it includes 12 beautiful neutrals, from a soft pink to a dark bronze, and it has everything you need to spice up the eyes for your look, while sticking to the nude tone. All you need to add to complete this look is your favorite mascara, (my personal favorite is Dior Addict It-Lash in black, $26, Sephora.com) but any will do just fine!
Are you’re looking for something extra on that night out? just add a thick cat eye line, it adds the flirty vibe you want without overdoing it.
A nude look is going to keep you looking like your natural self, and even more beautiful, you will be feeling sexier than ever.
