Gina Rodriguez And America Ferrera Hosted A Latina Power Lunch

“Fiercely Latina. #LatinaPower.” That’s our bestie Gina Rodriquez captioned an Instagram picture last Sunday. But it wasn’t just any regular weekend, she spent the afternoon lunchin’ in the company of talented Latina powerhouses, including America Ferrera, and One Day at a Time showrunner, Gloria Calderon Kellett.

The Jane the Virgin star was spilling some tea on IG Live when she grabbed Ferrera to say to the camera: “I’m gonna do a movie with this girl!” Last summer, the Internet was buzzing about the possibility of the Superstore star teaming up with Rodriguez for all kinds of greatness when they posted an IG photo fangirling over each other.

For that caption, Ferrera gushed that her hermana is “a bad-ass Latina who is killing the game left, right and center.”

Fans weren’t sure if this was a drill or if it was really time to get information—but they were more than ready. One superfan wrote: “I would pay with the blood of my first born to see them in a series or a movie together!”

Baby Driver star Eiza González was also present at the must-attend lunch and shared a photo with some heartfelt words that summed up what we can only imagine was the vibe of the day. “I’m proud to be a Latina. Being a woman ain’t easy but together we are always stronger. Hello to every industry. There’s more than one seat in the table. Come sit with us. Be a mentor. (And we are missing a ton of our girls making moves here!) How about we STOP attacking each other women! It’s better when we unite.”
