One of Russell Wilson’s greatest accomplishments in his young life has been winning the Super Bowl. Wilson led the Seattle Seahawks in beating the Denver Broncos in this year’s NFL Championship Game.
One of Rusell Wilson’s longtime dreams came true on Monday. Just before the Texas Rangers faced the Cleveland Indians he delivered the line up card at home plate at Surprise Stadium, Wilson was in full uniform.
Before the game he arrived early at the Rangers Spring Training Camp to participate in drills and field some grounders. He is not expected to stick around long during spring training, but his presence was felt.
“He’s a champion, and I believe that if every single one of us gets the same attitude, we’ll be able to achieve many things on the field,” mentioned Rangers outfielder Alex Rios.
Rusell was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2010 and played two seasons in the Rockies minor league system. On December 12, 2013, Wilson the Texas Rangers acquired Wilson from the Rockies in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft.
In Seattle’s Super Bowl 43-8 win, Wilson threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
The Rangers clubhouse was in high spirits as Wilson roamed around. He had breakfast with pitcher Nate Adcock and catcher Brett Nicholas.
A few hundred fans attended practice wearing Seahawks gear.
Wilson mentioned that he misses and will always miss baseball, but has no intentions of quitting the Seahawks and plans to start working out for football as soon as this week.
