UPDATE: To accommodate the more than 3,500 people who have RSVP’d for the event, it’s been confirmed that Donald Trump will now be appearing at the Phoenix Convention Center. The date and time will remain the same.
It’s perhaps one of the most anticipated moments for Arizona Latinos.
After making controversial comments about Mexican immigrants during his announcement for presidential candidacy, Donald Trump is now making his way over to the Valley of the Sun.
The business mogul will be in Phoenix to address illegal immigration and other topics. He will also be joined by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, both of which are known nationally to oppose illegal immigration.
The event will take place this Saturday, July 11th at 2 p.m. at the Arizona Biltmore.
On June 16th, the presidential hopeful said called Mexican immigrants “rapists” and criminals. Since then, he’s stood by his comments.
He teased the upcoming visit to Phoenix during an interview Wednesday with NBC News.
“I’m going to Arizona this weekend where they want to talk to me,” Trump said. “… Somebody said I’m the most popular person in Arizona because of my stance, and I’m going to be there this weekend.”
