unnamedOn Thursday, January 16th, an iconic piece of American history was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale – a 1963 Jeep FJ-6A Custom Mail Truck by Cox Charities – for $105,000.

Donated by Brown’s Classic Auto, this classic vehicle was purchased by Ron Pratt, a local car collector and community supporter residing in the East Valley. In addition to the truck, the buyer also received a matching US Mail Box.

“It’s really wonderful to know that we were able to auction off a vehicle at such a wonderful event like the Barrett-Jackson and to know that the proceeds of that sale are going to go to Cox Charities as well as Phoenix Children’s Hospital,” Spokesperson for Cox Charities Roxanne Wingate expressed.

The Cox Charities auction car offered a great visual to the Barrett-Jackson car auction show. The mail truck is the 5th car to be auctioned to raise funds for Cox Charities at Barrett-Jackson.

Last year Barrett-Jackson auctioned off a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble-Top Custom for Cox Charities raising $150,000 that went directly to 91 local charities.

“The proceeds do go a long way, and with Cox Charities we focus its use on education, so that’s many organizations that it’s going to help and support.”
