D-backs Seek Nominations for Wogan Season Tickets Scholarship
The Arizona Diamondbacks are now accepting nominations for the 2014 Michael Wogan D-backs Season Ticket Scholarship Program. Since 2008, the D-backs have provided families experiencing financial hardships with more than 300 full season tickets for a value of more than $600,000.
Fans are asked to submit an application via www.dbacks.com/scholarship telling their story to be considered for the scholarship program. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. (MST) on Nov. 25.
The D-backs awarded 48 lower-level full season tickets to 17 families as part of the 2013 Michael Wogan D-backs Season Ticket Scholarship program. Several families who have previously received scholarships have since improved their financial situations and have purchased their own tickets to attend D-backs games at Chase Field.
The Michael Wogan D-backs Season Ticket Scholarship program, which was created in 2008 as the first-of-its-kind in all of sports, awards fans experiencing financial hardships lower-level season tickets to attend D-backs games at Chase Field and also provides parking passes to some families experiencing additional hardships. In 2011, the D-backs announced that the Season Ticket scholarship program would honor the legacy of Wogan, a past recipient of the scholarship, who lost his life in the Reno air show tragedy on Sept. 16, 2011.
