D-Backs Miguel Montero to Dedicate Ronald McDonald House Playground
Montero will dedicate a new playground at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix during a special dedication ceremony this Friday at 11 a.m. located just north of downtown Phoenix. Montero and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation donated $50,000 to help renovate the playground at the Roanoke House.
The playground is modeled after Chase Field and features a baseball diamond with a replica of Miguel Montero at home plate ready to play catch. The walls of the playground are padded just like the outfield at Chase Field and the window coverings model the HD scoreboard, dbTV. Other playground amenities include a jungle-gym slide, crawl tube, tic-tac-toe, hopscotch and more.
Renovations to the playground were made by the D-backs Give Back League, a volunteer group made up of Arizona Diamondbacks employees who donated their time and coordinated vendors to complete the project. The renovation project also includes upgrades with new lighting, fans, mister system, grilling area, patio furniture and landscaping.
