Arizona Diamondbacks Legend Luis Gonzalez will join Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski, D-backs employee volunteers and representatives from Arizona Lottery to help plant trees this Friday at 2:00PM at University Park as part of the D-backs’ and Arizona Lottery’s program “Break A Bat, Plant A Tree.”

This season the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation partnered with Arizona Lottery to provide shade trees in Phoenix city parks and surrounding communities each time a D-backs pitcher broke the bat of an opposing player. As part of the program, the D-backs and Arizona Lottery will plant 100 trees in City of Phoenix parks, including Edison Park, Coronado Park and University Park.
