D-Backs Announce Details of Hispanic Heritage Day

Diamondbacks-Logo-Red-1280x10241PHOENIX –The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks and @LosDbacks) will host Hispanic Heritage Day, presented by Budweiser and supported by Arizona Lottery, Cox Communications and Subway, this Saturday featuring a postgame concert by Mexican pop star Cristian Castro and a pregame APS Street Festival. The D-backs will also hand out 20,000 David Peralta Los D-backs T-shirts, courtesy of Gila River Casinos.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the APS Street Festival that features an APS Cool Zone, music, interactive games, food trucks and the Bud Light Tailgate Trailer. Located at Fourth St. and Jackson St., the APS Street Festival will begin at 2:00PM and is free for fans of all ages. D-backs players Miguel Montero, David Peralta, Ender Inciarte, Alfredo Marte, Eury De La Rosa, Randall Delgado and Oliver Perez are scheduled to sign autographs at about 3:30PM at the APS Street Festival. Folklorico dancers will entertain fans as they enter the stadium beginning at 3:00PM and the band Jaleo will perform at Game Seven Grill.

Prior to the game, the D-backs will present Congressman Ed Pastor with the D-backs Community Leadership Award. Congressman Pastor will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Cox Communications will honor eight Hispanic community leaders in a pregame ceremony that will recognize four individuals from Phoenix and four from Tucson who have demonstrated a continued commitment to diverse communities across the state. In addition, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, Hensley Beverage Company and La Campesina will present a $10,000 check to the American Legion Post 41 during a pregame ceremony on the field. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day, D-backs players and coaches will wear Los D-backs jerseys.

Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game to enjoy a free postgame concert by Grammy Award-nominated Mexican pop star Cristian Castro. Castro has been nominated multiple times for Latin Grammy Awards and has won countless awards, including being named the Best Male Pop Artist in 2012 (Premios Oye).
