I am grateful to have had the opportunity to represent the Latino community in Phoenix on issues affecting our lives and communities. I was honored and humbled to accept from the Mexican Consulate the Ohtli Award at a ceremony held Monday, September 15 at PhoenixCity Hall.
The Ohtli is considered the highest honor bestowed by the Government of Mexico to a leader outside of Mexico and acknowledges and celebrates the commitment, vision and impact of an individual in lifting the Mexican or Latino community.
As your councilmember, your support has made my work and advocacy possible, and I look forward to continuing to represent you as a part of this rich and diverse community.
