Catherine Anaya’s Latest Blog, ‘Making Wishes Come True’

About 10 years ago I was asked to join the Make-A-Wish Arizona board of directors by the then chairman of the board. I was especially flattered by the invitation because the chairman and I didn’t know each other personally at the time. My children were very young then, I was already anchoring all the evening newscasts and I sat on two boards. I had more than I could handle so I politely declined, but always carried a soft spot in my heart for the organization and the amazing work they do.

Did you know Arizona is the founding chapter of Make-A-Wish? This now internationally known organization began right here in our own backyard 35 years ago with one boy’s wish to be a police officer.  Since then, Make-A-Wish Arizona has granted almost 5,000 wishes.
