After finishing the 2013-14 season at 10-6 and winning seven of their last nine games, the Arizona Cardinals started training camp on Friday with great expectations for the upcoming season.
The first practice is Saturday and the first pre-season game will be played against the Houston Texans August 9th.
“We have our own expectations,” quarterback Carson Palmer told Darren Urban of azcardinals.com, “We have high expectations of ourselves individually and with the team. Whatever anyone else says … that doesn’t matter. It comes down to us.”
The first task at hand for the Cardinals will be to make the playoffs, a feat they have not reached since 2009.
The Cardinals enter training camp with an improved team on both sides of the field. The following additions to the team will only improve the team: left tackle Jared Veldheer, tight end John Carlson and receiver Ted Ginn.
Once again the face of the Cardinals will be receiver Larry Fitzgerald who will enter his 11th season. Fitzgerald will be a force in the offense along with Michael Floyd.
With the new additions to the team and Head Coach Bruce Arians’ system in place for a year now, the team seems to be headed in the right direction.
The Cardinals will have 18 open practices from July 26 and August 22 at University of Phoenix Stadium. Parking and admission will be free to the public.
The first regular season game for the Cardinals will be played at home against the San Diego Chargers as well as the last game of the pre-season.
