Cardinals’ Great Season comes to an End; Panthers will face Broncos in Super Bowl 50

A great season it was; a game short of making it to Super Bowl 50 the Cardinals were stopped by Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers by a score of 49-15.
The panthers scored three times (2TD’s and a FG) in the first quarter to take a 17-0 lead and setting the pace for the rest of the game.
The Cardinals first score of the game came in the second half on a David Johnson’s 1-yard rush to put the score 17-7.
The Panthers dominated from start to finish; the defensive pressure was just too much for the Cardinals. Arizona had 7 turnovers in the game, three fumbles and four interceptions.
On the offensive side the Panthers scored at will.
Carolina’s quarterback Cam Newton had a spectacular game; he was 19-for-28 with 335 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
Newton also carried the ball 10 times for 47 yards; on one of his rushes he carried the ball 12 yards and to launched himself to the end zone.
Cardinals’ quarterback Carson Palmer had a long game, he was 23-for-40 with one touchdown, but had 4 interceptions that were devastating. Palmer also lost two fumbles.
Arizona’s receiving corps did very little damage, Larry Fitzgerald only had 4 catches for 30 yards; David Johnson led the Cardinals’ receivers with 9 catches for 68 yards.
The Cardinals finished the regular season with a record of 13-3, while the Panthers only lost one game during the regular season, finishing with a record of 15-1.
The Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos for Super Bowl 50. The Broncos defeated the New England Patriots 20-18.
Tom Brady failed a two-point conversion to tie the game as time expired.
Earlier in the game, the Patriots kicker, Stephen Gostkowski missed an extra-point.
Super Bowl 50 will be played in San Francisco on February 7.
