On my quest to chat with each of the designers who graced the stage at Latino Fashion Live, I get a very unexpected and lovely welcome at Addison Taylor Fine Jewelry. I am greeted at Addison Taylor by the sweet smile and pretty raven curls of owner Scott Berger’s young daughter.

This immediately set the tone for my visit with the brilliant jewelry designer.  Amid the expansion of his showroom and the busy schedule that his sought-after designs demand, Berger exudes the warmth of someone for whom philanthropy and family comes first.

I love that for Addison Taylor’s founder and CEO Scott Berger, there is never a “We can’t help you here” attitude.  Essentially the idea is that fine jewelry and the special feeling a custom design gives the wearer should be attainable for everyone.  While an appointment is needed to view the designs and to begin the  creative process for your own custom pieces, the exclusivity is reflected in the quality of the jewelry, not the attitude of the jeweler.

 Exclusive designs, inclusive beliefs

Scott Berger explains, “No matter the budget if you will, we devote the same attention and care to the design because that piece is special and everyone deserves to feel that. Every piece has to be spectacular.”  That belief and love for the art, gives Addison Taylor and Scott Berger something that sets this company apart: heart.   A heart for philanthropy and a heart for designing the most beautiful jewelry around is evident in everything the brand stands for.

Philanthropy and family define a brand

“I am so fortunate to have a job where I get to make people happy every day.”  Berger explains when asked about where his inspiration comes from.  For this very generous spirit, philanthropy and family come first.  In Scott Berger’s own words, “For my family, my wife and children, and for our business, philanthropy is always first.  We are so blessed to be able to give back to wonderful organizations, it is very important to us.”

Children’s organizations are especially near and dear to the heart of this father of four.  I know a bunch of you saw the beautiful pendant that Addison Taylor offered at Latino Fashion Live for auction for the benefit of St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital…seriously, dazzling! From the Foundation for Blind Children to Autism Speaks and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, just to name a few of the charitable organizations Addison Taylor works with, Berger is emotional when he speaks of the chance the help.

He jokes when he gives me his business card and shows me the title his children have given him.  “Scott Berger, CEO, O.H and C.B, O.H. For Over Hugger and C.B for Cry Baby.”  It’s not only an endearing but also a very real side to Berger, his corazón is really as big as his creative genius.  Oh, and you know that the hugging part resonates with the Latino community, we are all big huggers here, right?

 Creativity sparkles

The stunning jewelry I was able to view at Addison Taylor is truly some of the most unique and most brilliant work I have ever seen. Their design process is done in-house. From the initial consultation with a client to sketch the idea to the CAD renderings and the wax 3D prints, the process is fascinating and the end product…to die for.

Addison Taylor goes the extra mile to make each client happy.  Having recently spent eight months searching for just the right, rare watch for one client to spending time designing some special mother’s pendants for celebrities, and engagement pieces for a recent college grad, these jewelers put new meaning to the idea of customer service.

Believe me when I say, when the new showroom is all done, I’m going to spend some serious time browsing; I have Quinceñeras for my gemelas coming up. Addison Taylor is definitely the place to go to create a special pendant or ring for that special day.  One thing you can bet on:  Scott Berger of Addison Taylor will craft something perfect!
