Season two of FX’s crime thriller “The Bridge” has returned for its second season and made its national debut Wednesday, July 9th at 10.
Bruno Bichir joins the cast, and he will be playing a wealthy Mexican business leader who winds up involved with Marco, which is played by his brother Demian Bichir.
Working with family is unexpected for Bichir, but it turns out to be an enjoyable experience all together.
“Every time I work with Demian I learn a lot. He takes a lot of risks creatively talking,” he said.
According to TV Guide, this isn’t the first time that the siblings worked together. They have collaborated together on projects including the movie “Don’t Tempt Me” and the Spanish-language feature “Sin Noticias de Dios (Bendito Infierno).
FX “The Bridge” is a powerful crime drama that follows two police detectives — one Mexican, one American — and their concurring investigation of a serial killer that is menacing both nations along the Texas – Chihuahua border.
“The most important thing is that now we can see the higher problem — the corruption — is recognizable to people,” Bichir said.
The show addresses the corruption among Mexican authorities and the violence of the powerful borderland drug cartels.
“The audience will be challenged … by how well it’s written, that’s why people will be attracted to [the show],” he said.
