PHOENIX — ABC15 will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Yarnell Hill Fire tragedy with extended coverage Monday, June 30.

The Yarnell Hill Fire led to the largest loss of firefighters in the United States since the September 11 attacks. Nineteen
firefighters from the Granite Mountain Hotshots team were killed as they tried to fight the blaze northwest of Phoenix.

ABC15 coverage of the anniversary will start at 4 p.m., and culminate with a 30-minute special at 6:30 p.m. called Yarnell: One
Year Later.

The extended coverage will focus on the lives of the victims’ families over the last year to see how they are coping and how they
are moving forward. Special reports will also track the flow of donations, as well as an up-close look at how the Yarnell
community continues to rebuild.

The coverage will include a one-on-one interview with the sole survivor of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, and how he is using
lessons learned from the tragedy to help others.

ABC15 News anchors Katie Raml and Steve Irvin will be live in Prescott at the memorial service on the steps of the Prescott
Courthouse. ABC15 will also have crews live at a second memorial service in Yarnell.
