The 2014 Emmys are a must-see event every year filled with stars recognized for their work and achievements in the entertainment industry.

Not everyone was impressed with this year’s presentation. The LA Times wrote, “In general, the 2014 Emmys looked a lot like the 2013 Emmys.”

Colombian Sofia Vergara was in it to win it, as the actress from ABC’s “Modern Family” took home her fifth consecutive trophy for comedy series.

Social media users were up in arms over the moment the Emmy Awards literally put Vergara on a pedestal calling it a “sexist” move objectifying women.

According to the NY Daily News, Vergara, a four-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee, defended the skit and blasted her critics without naming the person who supposedly started it all — who she thinks needs to “lighten up a bit.”

The sudden death of Robin Williams is still present in the hearts of many. Billy Crystal devoted a touching tribute to Williams by recalling personal stories of them together. “As genius as he was on stage, he was the greatest friend you could imagine,” he said. “It’s very hard to talk about him in the past, he was so present in all our lives. … For 40 years he was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy,” he said on stage.

And “Breaking Bad” was also a highlight of the night, finishing off its final season with six Emmy wins, including awards in acting for Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn. To top it all off, an Emmy for best drama series.
