A Confident Cardinals Team hosts the Buccaneers on Sunday
By Francisco Romero. – A tough loss it was, against the New England Patriots, for the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday (21-23), but the season must go on and the page has to be turned.
The Cardinals will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at University of Arizona Stadium to a sold out crowd once again as it will be the 108th consecutive sell out since the venue opened in 2006.
“We got to move on to the next week, that is the nature of the business in the NFL,” Cardinals receiver
Larry Fitzgerald told the media during his session on Thursday.
Fitzgerald mentioned that adjustments have to be made for the upcoming game, “Execution on third down wasn’t as high as we’d like it (against New England), in the second half we picked it up at a higher level, but we have to be able to start early, sustain drives and keep our defense on the sidelines.”
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians mentioned that the team is up to the challenge as it faces a team with some momentum coming into Sunday’s game, “They know the challenge that is ahead of them right now, it’s a good football team coming in here, a team that has a lot of confidence and they should after beating a very good team on the road last week.”
The Buccaneers beat the Falcons on Monday 31-24.
Buccaneers Player to Look at
Second-year QB Jameis Winston led the way with four TD passes against the Falcons. Trailing 13-10 early in the second quarter, the Bucs rallied for 21 straight points.
The Cardinals enter this week’s game with a 19-6 record at home under head coach Bruce Arians. Arizona has a 25-6 record against non-division opponents in that span.
Cardinals’ wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald caught his 99th and 100th career TD receptions against the Patriots last week. He became one of just 10 players in NFL history with 100 career TD receptions.
