Suns fall to Spurs 117-89

Rookie sensation Devin Booker scored 24 points for the Phoenix Suns Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs, but they were not enough as San Antonio beat the Suns 117-89 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
Additionally for the Suns Archie Goodwin finished the game with a season high 20 points, T.J. Warren added 18 points, while Tyson Chandler finished the game with 20 rebounds (season high).
The injury bug keeps affecting the Suns; Jon Leuer and Mirza Tetelovic were out with injuries.
An injured Suns team was able to cut the lead in the third quarter by 6 points 69-63 after Devin Booker made a 21-foot jumper; booker shot 50 percent from the field and added 5 assists to his stats.
For the Spurs Kawhl Leonard finished at their top scorer with 21 points, Boban Marjanovic added 17.
The Suns record stands now at 13-31; the Spurs are 37-6.
On Thursday the Suns promoted “Throwback Night” celebrating the 90’s.
The Suns will host additional “Throwback Night” matchups on February 4 vs. Houston (‘80s Night) and February 25 vs. Brooklyn (‘60s & ‘70s Night), and then culminate the effort by recognizing the 40th Anniversary of the Suns’ 1976 NBA Finals team on Saturday, March 26 vs. Boston.
The Suns will host the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday at Talking Stick Resort Arena at 7:00 P.M.
