The Arizona Cardinals are Hot; will visit 49ers at Home
By Francisco Romero
With a 34-31 thriller victory of the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals won their second game in a row improving to 8-2, the Red Birds are in first place in the in the NFC West.
Coming off a 39-32 win in Seattle, the Cardinals faced a very resilient Bengals team and were able to beat them with grit and speed.
Yes, there are two undefeated teams in the NFL (Patriots 10-0 and Panthers 10-0), but there is hardly any argument that the Cardinals are, currently, the best team in the NFL.
The Cardinals are leading the NFL in Total Offense with 417.3 yards per game; on defense they rank number three allowing only 322.2 yard per game.
Cardinals’ quarterback Carson Palmer ranks third in the NFL in total passing yards with 307 yards per game.
Palmer tried to downplay his team recent success, “They are two big wins, but we just passed the halfway point, there is a lot of football left, a lot of division games left, we still got a long way to go and Bruce will tell us that we have not done anything yet.”
At the same time Palmer talked about the ability of his team to find ways to win, “Things don’t always go our way, but we manage to keep fighting making some key plays down the stretch.” “We made the plays to win the game.”
Head coach Bruce Arians would like to see a bit of improvement on defense, “We got to find ways to creating more turnovers and we have to protect the football better.”
Arizona is heading to San Francisco, for week 12 to face the 49ers; Arizona crushed San Francisco earlier in the season at home 47-7.
The 49es lost to Seattle last week 29-13, their record stands at 3-7.
It has been reported that 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had surgery early Tuesday on his non-throwing arm.
Blaine Gabbert was San Francisco’s 49ers quarterback against Seattle on Sunday; he completed 22-of-34 passes for 264 yards and 1 touchdown.
