The historic Woolworth Building Penthouse has been listed for $110 Million.
Experts say this is the highest ever asking price for a downtown apartment, setting a real estate record. The 8,975-square-foot unit features a wine cellar, a library, and a private observation deck and spans nine floors.
While there are similarly expensive apartments for sale in midtown, the asking price for the Woolworth penthouse is uniquely high for a property south of 14th street.
The new owners however, won’t be able to move in to the apartment for another two years.
The Woolworth building at 233 Broadway was completed in 1913 for five-and-dime chain owner Frank W Woolworth.
It was the tallest building in the world until 1930, when the Bank of Manhattan Trust building was completed.
The building became a national historic landmark in 1966.
