Help Wanted: Arizona’s a Good Place for Jobseekers

Arizona is showing off its place among the top 10 states withe the most job growth in the country.

That’s according to new data by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which showed that Arizona added nearly 76,000 jobs — a 2.9 percent growth rate year over year as of May. It puts Arizona as sixth best in the country.

These strong numbers are also despite the fact that Arizona shed about 20,000 jobs from April to May this year.

Oregon took first place in the country, with the fastest annual growth rate of 3.4 percent, followed by Utah with 3.3 percent, and then Florida, Idaho and Washington, all tied at 3.2 percent job growth.

Arizona was tied with Georgia in sixth place, and it is projected to continue to see strong job growth in the next couple months.

As reported by the Phoenix Business Journal, Arizona currently ranks as number eight in number of jobs created year over year, creating more jobs than Colorado, Nevada and Utah.
