Babies to teens who qualify for the Vaccines for Children program can receive free vaccinations from the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department throughout the year.  Department nurses typically hold the clinic on the third Wednesdayof the month, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Escalante Multigenerational Center, 2150 E. Orange St.

To qualify for the VFC program, a child must either be insured by Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), uninsured, American Indian or Alaska Native.

There is no appointment necessary.  Parents or legal guardians must accompany their minor children and are encouraged to bring their immunizations records or they will be given a card recording the vaccination that will be logged into the health system.

For the remainder of 2016, these are the Wednesday dates the program will be held – there is no clinic for December: June 15July 20August 17September 21October 19 and November 16.
