Telenovela About HIV/AIDS Nominated for Image Awards
The original web series “Sin Vergüenza” (Shameless) has been nominated for two 2013 Image Awards. The web series, filmed in East Los Angeles, was created by AltaMed, a health care service agency, as part of an awareness campaign to dispell some of the myths about HIV/AIDS in the Latina community.
The series has been nominated for best drama web series and best reality/informative web series by the 2013 Image Awards which will take place Aug. 16 in Beverly Hills.
The series is composed of four episodes available in English and Spanish. Natalie Sánchez, Hilda Sandoval, and Thomas Siegmeth of AltaMed, creators and executive producers of the series, joined forces with the producction company Kavich Reynolds Productions, to create the series, which is based on the experiences of the real lives of patients at the AltaMed clinic.
