Sonia Iscoa, mother of 7, made national headlines in 2008 when she went to the hospital to deliver her twins.

She was taken to the hospital on April 17, 2008 due to abdominal pain.

In an unexpected turn of events, she lost one of her babies, and she found herself in a coma for months. Her family feared she wouldn’t survive.

“I was receiving therapy but the same hospital let me go because of my economic situation. I wasn’t ready neither with life insurance nor financially,” she said.

Fortunately, Sonia survived and life gave her a second chance.

Six months after her recovery, she worked with State Farm agent Abraham Celaya to set up a life insurance policy and protect her family’s future.20140515_170022

“A lot of people think it’s too expensive but me personally I feel ready now that I have an armor to fight. I know that if I were to lose a family member tomorrow, they’re under the State Farm coverage; we are safe economically,” she said.

Today, Sonia has a peace of mind that her children are protected. More than ever she wishes to share her story to show the importance of life insurance for families.

She thanks agent Celaya for his support to the Latino community and for giving her a piece of mind, when she thought price would be too much to endure.

“It wasn’t until I made the first step, asked, and saw that (the process) wasn’t what I thought it would be. I thank him because he’s the one that has my back along with the company,” she said.
