Downtown Glendale is once again making waves in the culinary scene. Cuff Downtown is one of the latest restaurants to join the strip and it brings a mix of American and Mexican dishes to the table.  Opening a little under a year ago, the eatery took over where Haus Murphy once was, and now welcomes all who steps into their eatery.

The fine casual restaurant is a laid back Southern spot where you can head to after work, roll up your sleeves and unwind. From a menu that was once only Southern focused, Latin flavors have now come into play ever since 18-year-old chef Briana took the reins in the kitchen.

“We added Southwestern flavors because that’s what people around here are used to,” said manager Chris Chang

If you love tacos and tequila, then you’d enjoy one of the popular items called the tequila lime fish tacos. Marinated in tequila, these little tacos will hit all of your cravings after one simple bite.

And if you enjoy meat, well let’s just say Cuff has something special for you to order that is cooked slow and is very fulfilling.

“We smoke the brisket for six hours every day,” he explained.

The flavorful meat is served with a side of delicious Cajun fries and coleslaw.

Of course, if you choose to head down to the restaurant after work, you’ll want to try their drink menu. There is an array of drinks to order from beers to cocktails, but the one to that will truly get you the Cuff experience is their “michelada”.

“We use Cave Creek chili beer and a shot of chili liquor added in with the bloody mary,” said Chang.

And for the young chef creating the dishes that customers love, her culinary ideas come from her Mexican background. The eatery believes that pulling ideas from heritage is the best way to get the most authentic food.

“If you don’t feel what you’re making and you don’t put your heart into it, the food will just taste ordinary,” said Chef Briana Vasquez.

So, the next time you’re strolling through Downtown Glendale – stop by, cuff up those sleeves, and check out how this special eatery brings the latest Southwestern kick in town.
