Salt: Tacos Y Tequila Opens at Westgate in Glendale

There’s a new addition to the Westgate Entertainment District that has piqued the interest of many party-goers and foodies alike. It’s the latest spot for nightlife and for those who crave tacos and tequila.

What was known before as Margaritaville is now Salt: Tacos Y Tequila, a modern take to Mexican cuisine.

“We chose this area because it’s a great location that stands out because it’s right in front of the arena,” said general manager Tim Rogers.

The restaurant turns into a club-like atmosphere on Thursdays where there is a DJ to add to the energy level. As the name of the eatery goes: the tacos have been a big hit, along with the many variation of tequilas.

“We have your traditional carne asada, a crispy fish taco, and different types of chicken tacos,” he said.

The turmeric style chicken taco is a popular pick because of the way it’s seasoned.

“It has jicama on it, and even an orange cut up on top,” explained Rogers.

It’s created differently and is an item that you can’t find at many Mexican restaurants. Of course, if you like a variety of tacos, there are six other tacos you can choose from.

The entrees at Salt are common in a way that is familiar to those who indulge in Mexican food; but if you look closely at the menu, you’ll see their unique take on various dishes.

“We offer the traditional enchilada that is flat any layered with the sauces and cheeses,” he said. “You can choose the meat and top it off with baby greens for presentation.”

And if you’re really feeling adventurous, there is one appetizer that’ll get the whole table talkin’. The chorizo cornbread, which has a salty/sweet flavor, is a new combination and will have everyone at the table reaching for another slice.

“It’s one of those where customers say ‘man I can have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner’,” stated Rodgers.

As many know, Westgate is a popular place with concerts, games, and other lively events. Where there is entertainment, there are restaurants. And now Salt is here! An awesome spot where you can eat tacos, drink tequila, and get down on dance floor!
