In the spirit of the back yard cookout, let’s check out the perfect Latino twist for the barbeque.  Carne Asada grills up perfectly and quickly so your master grill chef can chill out with a beer and shoot the breeze with the hombres while watching some TV sports himself.  Check out this super easy recipe.  Just make the marinade the night before or early the morning of your barbeque…then done!

Carne Asada

Yield 16 Servings

3 pounds flank steak, sliced thin (get your butcher to do this)

Marinade

1/3 cup white vinegar

1/2 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 limes, juiced

1/2 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon ground white pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon paprika

1 white onion, chopped

1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1 lime, juiced

16 Corn Tortillas (warmed)

Salsa: Choose your favorite recipe for garnishment

Guacamole: Chose your favorite recipe for garnish

Cilantro and Lime for garnish

Preparation

Mix Marinade ingredients in a shallow baking dish with a lid.  Place flank steak in the marinade, turn to make sure that all of the steak is covered.  Cover with lid, refrigerate and allow to marinate for 2-8 hours.

Grill Steak on a super hot grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side.  Check temperature for at least 140 degrees for food safety.

Allow steak to rest and then slice thin for tacos.  Place slices in warmed corn tortillas, add your favorite garnish…enjoy!
