Burton Barr Central Library is seeking proposals for self-made altars inspired by the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) tradition for an exhibition in @Central Gallery. 

The theme,  “Heroes: La luminaria de mi vida,”  invites participants to create altars that honor the personal heroes who have inspired their lives in small ways or great ones.  

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.
