Art After Work returns to Wednesdays to Tempe Center of the Arts

TEMPE, Ariz – Like students going back to school and migrating birds, Art After Work returns to its regular schedule of Wednesday evenings. 

Beginning Sept. 10, Art After Work takes place each month in the Gallery at Tempe Center for the Artson Wednesday nights. Arrive early and enjoy the singers at Walk-in Wednesdays Open Mic Night. 

Art After Work is TCA’s relaxing painting party. Get tickets, then bring your friends and your imagination. Learn how to paint your own take on classic masterpieces and local landscapes. TCA provides the instructor, the art supplies and even an $8 food and beverage voucher. The price is $35. Online registration must be completed by noon the day of the program. Buy Tickets

2014 Painting Themes and Schedule 

Sept. 10 – Sonoran Twilight
During monsoon season, the Arizona sunsets become even more colorful.  For this project we will be painting a modern, vibrant landscape.  Just as the sun ducks below the horizon, twilight sets in with its turquoise sky and deep magenta desert silhouette. 

Oct. 8 – The Scream
Join us for this Halloween-themed event. We will be painting Edvard Munch’s classic masterpiece The Scream and casting away our worries and things that make us want to scream.

Nov. 12 – Aspen Winter Trees
For this class we will be painting a sweet winter scene: bright white aspen trees, set against a pale blue sky. Lastly we will add a focal point of a bright red cardinal, resting a branch.
