As the House prepares to debate bipartisan immigration reform legislation, a local small business and three renowned Latino artists have teamed up to shed light on the economic impact of granting a pathway to citizenship to 11 million undocumented immigrants – to the tune of $832 billion to the U.S. economy over a decade.

The unveiling of six murals commissioned by Torres Marquez Communications (TMC), Pablo Luna, Lalo Cota, and Tato Caraveo – also known as PLATO – developed six unique paintings last Friday during simultaneous LIVE Art Engagement events across the city.

The final pieces will be on display during the REFORMART First Friday exhibit, along with additional pieces of art by PLATO. The artists will be donating part of the proceeds to

“The 100 Club’s Survivor Fund” in memory of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives during Sunday’s wildfires

This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend

When it comes to immigration reform, the numbers add up.

Immigration Reform would create a path to citizenship for roughly 11 million immigrants, adding $832 billion to the U.S. economy over a decade.

Legalizing the 11 million unauthorized immigrants will increase the wages of all Americans by $470 billion over a decade.

Workers will spend these wages on things like cars, iPhones, and houses, all of which will create demand for more goods and services, helping to grow businesses.
