Fonseca’s “Simples Corazones Tour” June 5th in Phoenix is a Must

By Francisco Romero

Described as a Pop Latino song, mixed with the sounds of Vallenato, this single “Te Mando Flores” became the icon song of Colombian singer, songwriter Juan Fernando Fonseca, better known as Fonseca.

“Te Mando Flores” was the hit single released in the Corazon (Album) back in 2006.

Ever since then Fonseca has amazed the music world with five Grammy Latino Awards and a repertoire that has tour around the world with great success.

That Repertoire will hit the Valley of the Sun June 5th at the Van Buren.

“I am excited to be going to Phoenix, the Van Buren will be rocking,” Fonseca told ArizonaLatinos.com.  “It will be a great party, it will take you out of your routine and that is our goal, to make you happy, to make you dance, that is what a party should be.”

Born in Bogota, Colombia Fonseca has used his success in music to make a difference in his country.

Foundation Gratitud is the non-profit arm of Fonseca’s music venture and has made a difference in society by promoting access to art and culture, strengthening the process of cultural management and to demonstrate that art and culture are capable of healing emotionally.

“I feel very proud of what we have accomplished with our foundation.  Because of our country’s past history being active in social movement activities is a must for us, we want to show the world our beautiful country, that Colombians are great people and we are achieving that through the arts and music,” Fonseca told us.

In the past few years Fonseca has added a new touch to his music.  In 2014 he released the album Sinfonico in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.

“What we did in 2014 is that I was able to record with the symphony orchestra some of the most important songs throughout my career,” said Fonseca.  “Since last year we have been performing with orchestra and I also recorded with the Filarmonica de Medellin,” he added.

He also added that the new version of “Ven” will be part of what he brings to the Phoenix.

“Te Mando Flores,” “Mi Sueño,” “Vine a Buscarte”… “All this and more, will be what I will be singing and performing in Phoenix,” said Fonseca when we asked to tell us what to expect from his performance.

“Being so close to the border, it will be exciting to have people from Mexico,” Fonseca shares.

This early summer tour will take Fonseca through nine cities, most of them in the West Coast of the United States and one performance in Montreal, Canada.

“This tour has me very excited, I have visited phoenix twice in the past, but have never performed there, I am really looking forward to having a great time in Phoenix,” Fonseca told ArizonaLatinos.com.

The concert will take place at the Van Buren located at 401 W. Van Buren St. in Phoenix on Wednesday June 5th.
