Roberto Tapia In Concert 2/16/19
Roberto Tapia
Rigo Entertainment and FP Entertainment
are proud to bring back famed Spanish singer Roberto Tapia to the historic Celebrity Theatre
8:30 p.m. Saturday, February 16
Roberto Tapia released his latest album Esto Es Sólo El Comienzo in 2017, featuring frenzied banda anthems and a few soulful norteño ballads for good measure. Whatever the style, Tapia remains a singularly gripping performer. He brought all of his famed onstage energy to brass-driven explosions like “Quisiera Gritar Que Te Quiero,” letting his forceful shout push the album to its many electrifying peaks, but he is somehow just as intense when things got tender on “Tus Besos Nunca Fueron Para Mi.” The collection followed Tapia’s highly successful album El Muchacho (2012). Fueled by favorites like “La Carta Fuerte” and “Amor Perdido,” it reached number one on Billboard’s ‘Top Latin Albums’ chart and topped the ‘Hot Latin Albums’ and ‘Regional Mexican Sales.’
The swaggering troubadour is known for his wide range of styles, performing everything from romantic ballads to controversial corridos. Tapia also weaves fast-paced, high-energy songs into his concerts, which have helped him secure a loyal following among fans.
Hits include “Caminos Diferentes,” “Me Duele,” “No Fue Facil,” “La Batalla,” “El Nino De La Tuna” and “Poncho Loco” just to name a few.
In 2013, Tapia was one of three coaches on the first two seasons of La Voz Kids (The Voice Kids), a Spanish-language version of The Voice featuring American Spanish-speaking children on the Telemundo Network.
