In September, Selena Gomez revealed to the public why she was shying away from the spotlight for a bit. The 25-year-old star went through a kidney transplant surgery alongside best friend, Francia Raisa.

The 13 Reason’s Why producer secretly had the kidney transplant related to her lupus diagnosis and needed time to recover from the surgery in peace. In the announcement back in September, the ‘Fetish’ singer wrote a post, ” There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis.” The Mexican-American beauty humbly thanked her friend, family, and team of doctors who worked hard on turning the process into a miracle.

The former Disney star and Raisa recently sat down with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie for an exclusive interview to talk about the scary journey. Though the complete interview is set to air this upcoming Monday, Oct.30th, the network released a tear-jerking clip of the interview.
