Selena Quintanilla Is Getting A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Just days after Google paid tribute to the life of the Queen of Tejano with a heartwarming doodle, the late singer is posthumously receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The news was originally announced back in 2016, when the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce revealed Selena was part of the Walk of Fame Class of 2017. Well, the wait is finally over.
The ceremony which will take place on November 3, at the site of Quintanilla’s Hollywood star, will be proclaimed as “Selena Day” in the city of Los Ángeles.
“This day is finally becoming a reality and we cannot be any happier. We are grateful Selena’s life has been an inspiration to so many and we hope it will continue to encourage people to follow their dreams,” Selena’s sister, Suzette Quinantilla, told ET.
Actress Eva Longoria and Mayor Eric Garcetti, who are expected to speak at the unveiling, will be joined by the Quintanilla family.

Selena’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is LONG overdue. The late singer changed the music industry is many different ways. From becoming the first Tejano artist to win a Grammy to introducing Latin music into the mainstream market, her legacy continues to endure despite her absence.
