In the search engine’s logo description, they refer to the actress as “the first major Latin American crossover Hollywood star.” The logo design, which pays homage to the late Mexicana on her birthday, shows a drawing of her face surrounded by colorful flowers.

Del Río’s Hollywood stardom debuted with her appearances in silent films, then made the switch to “talkies” (films with sound) in the 1930’s and where she worked alongside big names like Fred Astaire and Elvis Presley.

Not only is the Flaming Star actress remembered for her film roles but also as a lover of the arts and philanthropist. The Mexican beauty made history by being the first woman to be on the Cannes Film Festival jury and she also helped to found the Society for the Protection of the Artistic Treasures of Mexico. The group helped to preserve buildings and art with historical significance in her home country of Mexico.
