Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AZHCC) Endorses Penzone, Miranda
(Phoenix, AZ) – The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has announced the following endorsements:
- Paul Penzone, Democrat for Maricopa County Sheriff
- Sen. Catherine Miranda, Democrat, Senate District 27
- Daniel Hernandez, Democrat, House District 2
- John Christopher Ackerley, Republican, House District 2
“Paul Penzone has the experience, integrity and vision needed to lead the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department in a direction that will restore the agency’s credibility and commitment to public safety and community service. We believe Paul’s track record as a respected, pragmatic and visionary law enforcement professional, as well as his compassion for people of diverse backgrounds and all walks of life, make him the most qualified candidate for Maricopa County Sheriff in the last generation. We proudly endorse Paul Penzone for sheriff,” said Gonzalo A. de La Melena, Jr., president and CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
On Senator Catherine Miranda, he said, “Sen. Catherine Miranda is a competent, experienced and proven leader who has shown she can work across party lines to develop an agenda that is good for her district’s constituency, good for the economy, and good for the people of Arizona. Sen. Miranda understands the fundamental connection between our state’s ability to develop a stable and prosperous economy and our need to improve the quality of education at every level across the state. We proudly endorse Sen. Miranda for reelection in District 27.”
On Daniel Hernandez, Democrat candidate for House District 2, he said, “Daniel Hernandez’s passion for public service, his intelligence and vision, and his grasp of the issues that are most important to the voters of his district and Arizona make him a powerful choice to serve in the Arizona House of Representatives. As a member of the Sunnyside Board of Trustees, Daniel has shown he has the skills and political maturity to navigate and overcome the rough and tumble challenges of day-to-day politics and get things done. His future in Arizona politics is bright, and we’re proud to support his election in District 2.”
And finally on John Christopher Ackerley, Republican candidate for House District 2 he said, “Chris Ackerley approaches his responsibilities as a state legislator and public servant with the best interest of his district’s constituency in mind, while considering the interests of all Arizonans. A teacher by profession, Chris’ commitment to education and our state’s need to continue to build on the advances made by the passage of Proposition 123 prove he deserves to be reelected in District 2. We are proud to endorse Christopher for reelection in November.”
