If how both major parties pulled off their respective conventions is any indication of the presidential race officially underway, the Dems are off to a pretty good start. After a rough start of chaos and dissension among party ranks, the DNC managed to fire up its liberal base and exploit everything the RNC failed to do. So what did they accomplish?

First off, the mass walkout of Bernie supporters never seemed to materialize. It looked to be in the cards on day one when Bernie youth were pounding on the gates of the Philly hall trying to block delegates from entering. Party chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was booted after Wickileaks published 20-thousand leaked DNC emails. The Russians are suspects in the hacking. Sanders campaign organizers tried to keep his supporters off the floor while a thousand of them were outside shouting “Hell no DNC! We won’t vote for Hillary.” Some of them booed during his speech as he formally nominated the frontrunner.

Donald Trump, in all his incendiary glory, tried to take the spotlight the next morning by imploring the Russians to try to find Hillary’s lost emails. Trump has spent the bulk of his attack strategy trying to convince the public that Hillary is a national security threat for having emails on a private server, and there he was proclaiming his wish for them to land in the Russians’ hands. The story dominated day two headlines, more so than what any of the B-list speakers had to say at the convention.

Day three, the public got to know Hillary’s running mate, Tim Kaine, who delivered some of his speech in Spanish and came off as the folksy guy next door. The former senator and governor of Virginia talked about being a missionary in Honduras and called Trump a “moral disaster.” Vice President Joe Biden set his sites on the GOP nominee, and registered Independent and former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg called Trump a “con,” “dangerous demagogue,” and urged America to “elect a sane person.” President Obama literally put a spark under the DNC’s collective ass by delivering what could have been one of the most impassioned speeches of his career. He almost went hoarse.

Chelsea Clinton introduced her mom the final night, recalling moments of her life where her mom taught her valuable lessons and proved she was a passionate advocate and fighter for the people. Hillary pretty much delivered what any supporter could hope for. Taking the opposite tone of Trump’s eerie portrayal of an America descending into the flames of hell, Hillary blasted her rival for claiming “I, alone” can fix the country’s problems, and hammered home a well scripted plea for unity. Trump unleashed a tweet storm the next morning saying Crooked Hillary “made up facts about me and “forgot” to mention the many problems of our country, in her very average scream!”
