By Francisco Romero. – Tears of joys ran down LeBron James face as he embraced his latest LeBron-James-campeónchampionship feat, this time for his hometown Cleveland.

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors Sunday night 93-89 for its first NBA Championship; it was also the first championship in a major sport for the City of Cleveland since 1964 when the Cleveland Browns became NFL Champions.

James guided the Cavaliers to victory as he finished the game with a triple-double in game 7; he finished with 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, becoming the third player to do so in a seventh game joining Jerry West in 1969 and James Worthy in 1988.

James was unanimously chosen as the 2016 Finals Most Valuable Player; he was also named MVP for his previous championships (2012 and 2013) with the Heat.

“I am happy to be a part of history,” said James during postgame celebrations. “I can’t wait to get home.”

Kyrie Irving added 26 points and 8 rebounds to help the Cavaliers to victory.

For the Golden State Warriors it was a dream season; one that witnessed the team make NBA history with the best regular season record in the history of the league, finishing with a record of 73-9.

The Warriors head coach, Steve Kerr was named the Coach of the Year and Stephen Curry was a unanimous winner of the league’s Most Valuable Player.

The 2016 Golden State Warriors broke more than 20 league records and more the 10 franchise records.

“We had our chances and our guys know that, they are really bummed out, but that is the way it goes,” said Warrior’s head coach Steve Kerr after the game.

“We have had so many moments of joy together an it was like, wow, we are actually having a moment of sorrow, as a team and it is a great reminder that, first of all, it’s not easy to win a championship, as I said, it’s life, things happen and you have to move on,” added Kerr.
