Phoenix Fashion Week Recap: Spring into Style 2016
By: Rosa Cardenas, Blush Boutique
On Saturday, March 12th, the Arizona Center was host to Phoenix Fashion Week’s “Spring into Style Fashion Show 2016,” highlighting six of Arizona’s top stylists. The stylists were each given a specific look and inspiration that they must use to pull of their creations.
It also featured pop-up boutiques by Cha Cha Chic, Sugar Sugar, Dry Bar, Brothers Tailors, Hues of Ego, Arae, Charmosa Swimwear, Lily V, Shazia’s Boutique, Becki Coakley, and Phoenix Fashion Week Apparel.
Take Your Seats!
Metallic: Team metallics was led by Risa Kostis. This time, metallics wasn’t just an accessory, it was the key piece. The runway was glowing and glittering with metallics. Risa kept pieces simple and stylish by focusing on the metallic piece, and keeping the rest of the outfit simple and complementary. She did a fantastic job on using the fabric that so many are fearful of wearing.
Sporty Chic: Parisa Zahedi pulled off the look by keeping it very crisp in classic white with a touch of black. It was both chic and effortless. Parisa created fabulous outfits to inspire us all to dress sporty chic; but the look does require a bit of fashion IQ. You must keep the elements and color coordination in mind to enhance your outfit. Parisa showed us all how to be stylish while wearing casual outfits.
Men’s Green: No man wants to be a branded as the fashion dud. Trust us, that didn’t happen after Timothy Boada showcased his look. He did a fantastic green look for the men, incorporating variations of the color and using different prints and patterns. His style was fun and edgy. Timothy left green in envy, but relived us by showing us how to do it right.
Plaid: Style Stalker’s look was as chic as it gets! Plaid is a very traditional but edgy pattern. Beware, this look is only for the bold. It can be combined so well with suits, in just the way Style Stalkers did on the runway. These suits had some of the best contrast in fabrics and colors. The look was impeccable from head to toe. A utopia of perfection, Style Stalkers dominated in plaid!
White Shirt: Nuvia Magdahi brought the classic white shirt to another level. The sense of style that Nuvia has is epic. A classic white shirt is as timeless as fashion gets; from iconic designs, to modern interpretations – chic never looked so crisp! Nuvia buttoned up her show by bringing us such innovative looks, and showed us how the white shirt can be the building block of many ensembles. In edge and style, Nuvia did not disappoint.
Lingerie: Brandon Hunt showed off his styling skills by teaching us that lingerie isn’t just for the bedroom. From the moment the first model stepped on to the runway, the energy in the room was electric. He really had the crowed fired up! Not only were his pieces truly fresh, fierce, and romantic – his choreography was amazing. He captivated the audience with the energy radiating from the models on the runway, while his looks mesmerized us all. It was a recipe for the win!
Thank you to Phoenix Fashion Week Team for putting on another spectacular show this year. Never disappointing, and leaving us all wanting more, overall the Spring into Style 2016 Fashion Show was a true wonderful experience.
