The weather could not be better for one of the greatest golf events of the country. The Waste Management Phoenix Open, in its 81st edition, goes on until Sunday at the TPC Scottsdale.

The weather for the weekend is expected to average in the mid 70’s.

One who is not worried about the weather is Rickie Fowler who finished tied with the lead after the first day. Fowler finished Thursday 6 under 65.

Last week Fowler missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in La Jolla, California; but still came into the Phoenix Open as one of the favorites and he has not let any one down so far.

Along with Fowler, Shane Lowry and Hideki Matsuyama sit on top of the leaderboard.

Defending champion Brooks Koepka finished the day two strokes off the pace, while crowd favorite and former Sun Devil Phil Mickelson finished his round at 2-under 69.

72-hole PGA TOUR event has a purse of $6,500,000 with a winner’s share of $1,170,000.
