Uzra Vo Stands Behind 12 Years of Experience Coordinating Scottsdale’s Hottest Events

If you’ve been to some of the hottest events in Scottsdale, then you’ve probably been part of the work and skills that Uzra Vo is showing off in the Valley.

Vo has spent the past 12 years as Events and Marketing Manager at Evening Entertainment Group, overseeing all aspects of marketing, promotions, and event planning to an extensive list of social gatherings.

But these haven’t been any ordinary events. Past events she’s coordinated have had A-list names like Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Wayne, Steve Aoki, Michael Jordan, and Calvin Harris on the guest lists.

“[I think] the best part about being an Events Coordinator is when you see an event come to life,” Vo says, “when you see this beautiful event, everyone’s taking photos, wowed and you’re just like, ‘I did that.’”

However, she admits that standing behind such large scale events isn’t an easy task since the full responsibility for one event is entirely on her.

“We are responsible for the event itself. A lot of it is being able to manage 100 different moving parts and making them move as one,” she said. “Events Coordinator is one of the most stressful jobs you’ll ever have, so it does take somebody that can take a high level of stress.”

But Uzra has remained unstoppable along the way, making the growth of a dozen nightclubs, day clubs, restaurants and lounges possible. She’s even been part of coordinating events for Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona, for ESPN, EA Sports, among others.

She believes Scottsdale is a unique venue for its ever-changing concepts and for its ability to keep up with the latest trends. “We’re always open to anything. Everything in our culture is just changing, and we just kind of move along with it and we embrace it. We’re very open to change.”

In the future, Uzra knows that the possibilities are endless in her career.

“I can see myself becoming a partner, I can see myself opening up my own events company, transitioning into marketing; I think all those possibilities are open and I’m really excited about that.”
