Barack Obama Sworn In As U.S. President For A Second Term First Lady Michelle Obama arrived at the ceremonial swearing in of U.S. President Barack Obama for a second term in office. As millions of people watched, many couldn’t help but note the fashion of the president’s wife. During the earlier ceremonies the first lady wore a textured blue coat and dress by American designer Thom Browne. Browne is known for his futuristic fashion shows and innovations of classic suit styles. Predominately known for his men’s fashions, Thom will certainly have women fans as well after the first lady debuted his coat at the inauguration. Michelle Obama is a big supporter of American fashion. The first lady completed her outfit with, J. Crew accessories and a Cathy Waterman necklace. However, the highlight of the outfit was her custom made Reed Kraoff suede knee length boots; they are the only pair in the world.

US-POLITICS-INAUGURATION-BALLS

Towards the end of the Inaugural Parade Michelle and her two daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, left the ceremony to begin getting ready for the evening’s ball. At the ball, Michelle wore a ruby red halter dress by designer Jason Wu. The floor length chiffon gown with a deep V shape back was a fresh and daring look for the first lady. Many onlookers were surprised by her choice, but it is evident that she looked confident and as happy as ever. Boldly, she stuck with Jason Wu; he designed her infamous white gown for the 2009 Inaugural Ball. With a custom ring in the center of her dress as well as Jimmy Choo heels, Michelle Obama has rightfully earned her place in the fashion hall of fame, especially among the first ladies.
