The Detroit Pistons beat the Phoenix Suns 127-122 in overtime Wednesday night.

Phoenix had a 16-point lead in the 4th quarter, but could not hold on to the lead.

The end of regulation finished with the score tied at 112.

Piston’s guard Reggie Jackson finished the game with 34 points and 16 assists; former Phoenix Suns Marcus Morris added 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

“We tried making as many adjustments as we could – matchups, schemes, zone,” Piston’s head coach Stan Van Gundy told Keith Langlois of pistons.com after the game. “What we were searching for, quite honestly, was a defensive scheme that would work with a total lack of effort. And we couldn’t find one. So we just went back to our normal stuff and guys played hard. Which is usually the adjustment you need to make: play hard. Try. Really give an effort.”

For the Suns, Brandon Knight finished the game with 22 points; Eric Bledsoe added 21.

The Suns will visit the Wizards on Friday.

Warriors Improve to 20-0

NBA Coach of the month (October/November) Luke Walton, of the Golden State Warriors led his team to its 20th straight victory to start a season adding to its NBA record setting mark.

The Warriors beat the Charlotte Hornets 116-99.

Stephen Curry finished the game with 40 points, 28 of those points were scored in the third quarter.

Golden State dominated throughout the game; Curry sat the whole fourth quarter.

The Warriors have won 23-straight regular-season games dating back to the 2014-15 campaign, giving them the third-longest winning streak in NBA history behind only the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers (33-0) and 2012-13 Miami Heat (27-0).

Former Arizona Wildcat Walton is the Warriors interim head coach while another former Arizona Wildcat, head coach Steve Kerr recovers from back surgery.

Golden State will try to improve to 21-0 on Saturday when they face the Toronto Raptors.
