The Wing Counter Spices Things up in Glendale
By: Jessica Danielle Ramirez
It’s hot and spicy, sweet and garlicy; and now, it’s a go-to spot for those who just really want to devour some chicken wings. The Wing Counter is the latest addition to the West Valley and welcomes all who are ready to experience their 14 unique flavors.
Jairus Roubik and Shane Sender saw an opportunity to bring a new eatery to Glendale and decided to put together a delicious wing joint.
Since opening, the TWC style (which is a dry rub) has become a fan favorite. It’s the basic seasoning of the chicken and full of sabor.
If your favorite condiment happens to be Sriracha, then the Sriracha honey wings are a must to taste. And for those who love spice, or like to live on the edge – beware! There’s even a wing flavor so hot that customers have to sign a waiver to order it.
“It’s one of those challenges that we are open to making a fun gig out of it,” said manager Jairus Roubik.
Whether your preference is the bone in or the bone out, crispy or not, The Wing Counter will cook the wings your style and leave you craving more.
“Typically we like to sell the traditional wings, but for those who don’t like to get their hands dirty we have boneless,” he said. “And for the ladies who don’t like wings, we have salads too.”
From six wings starting at $5.95 to 36 wings priced at $27.95, the crispy wings are cooked fresh daily and served with house made ranch or blue cheese dressing. The sides range from French fries, coleslaw, and even vegetables.
The new eatery also offers a special dessert known as beignets that are popular in the South. They’re fluffy and doughy with powdered sugar or caramel sauce and are similar to sopapillas.
And for those who believe chicken wings should be its own food group, here is a deal that cannot be passed up. On The Wing Counter’s grand opening (October 2-4), 75 guests will have free wings for one year! In fact, starting at 10:30 a.m. on each day, the first 25 in line will be granted the special wings offer.
“The lucky winners will be able to come in once a week and receive free wings on us,” he explained.
It’s an offer foodies can’t pass up and another reason to make your way to Glendale. And if you love to test the waters, try the super hot wings for yourself or any of the scrumptious flavors. It’s a concept you won’t be able to get enough of… but don’t say we didn’t warn you!
