American League takes 86th MLB All-Star Game 6-3

By Francisco Romero. – It didn’t take much time for the American League to show it’s power during the All-Star Game in Cincinnati; Angels Outfielder, the fist batter of the game, hit a home run off Zach Greinke to put the American League on top 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
The American League won the game 6-3 on Tuesday night.
The National League tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning.
In the top of the fifth inning the game opened up when the American League scored two runs against Clayton Kershaw.
American League starter, Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel pitched as well as he has all season long; he threw a perfect first inning and allowed an unearned run in the second. The lefty struck out one and forced four groundballs while facing 8 batters.
Keuchel became the Fourth Astros’ pitcher to start an All-Star game along with J.R. Richard in ’80, Mike Scott in ’87 and Roger Clemens in ’04.
Mike Trout finished the game 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk; he scored twice and became the Most Valuable Player of the game.
Trout became the first player to wins consecutive MVP’s in an All-Star game.
Arizona Diamondback Paul Goldschmidt finished the game 1-for-3, he got a single on the bottom of the second inning, advanced to second on an error and scored the first run for the National League.
Detroit Tigers’ David Price was the winning pitcher; he threw a perfect fourth inning with two strikeouts, while Kershaw was the losing pitcher for the National League.
During pregame ceremonies prior to Baseball’s 86th Midsummer Classic featured the four “Greatest Living Players” as selected by fans – alphabetically: Hank Aaron, Johnny Bench, Sandy Koufax and Willie Mays.
