Salma Hayek retuns to Abc
Salma Hayek is returning to her Ugly Betty roots by producing a new dramedy about a Latino family for ABC. The network has approved development for the new show titled, Bastards, about a Cuban-American family who’s patriarch fathered an illegitimate child with the family maid 25 years ago. Now the mother will do everything it takes to protect her children from the dark secret.
The storyline was originally conceived by the Mexican actress, but written by Silvio Horta. “I immediately sparked to the concept — it was fun and juicy and had the opportunity for both a lot of salacious situations and humor as well as a lot of heart and emotions, hitting that sweet spot I like to write,” Horta said according to Deadline.
Horta and Hayek will executive produce the new series along with Mark Gordon, Jose Tamez, and Nicholas Pepper.
