Tempe’s Rec Hoops program seeks volunteer coaches

Tempe, AZ – The City of Tempe is seeking volunteer coaches for its winter 2015 Youth Sports Rec Hoops program. The Rec Hoops leagues are for youth in grades 4-8 that are either new to the game of basketball or looking to improve their skills. The program begins Jan. 10 and runs through Feb. 28.

Volunteer coaches can expect to spend between three and five hours per week working with young athletes at Tempe-based facilities. Leagues practice on weekday evenings and games occur on Saturdays. Chosen applicants will undergo fingerprinting and a background check.
