Make the Transition to Fall Season with a Brand New Hair-Do

As with all the other updates us ladies do to transition between the seasons – like clothes, makeup, and shoes – hairstyles should be no different. 

It’s a perfect time to change it up and freshen it up when it comes to our hair. Whether by trimming it and adding some layers, or just trying a new style for the day, it’s fun to do something new.

But trying something new, especially with hair, can be scary to many women; and may I say, especially to us Latinas. Many of us are so caught in in the idea that our hair is everything, and when we chop off our long locks, we lose what we think makes us sexy.

The truth is, we can look very sexy with a shorter chic do. Take it from Cuban-American actress Cameron Diaz. She makes the short bob look sophisticated, chic, and most of all, sexy. And so can you! It’s a haircut perfect for any age, and easy to style. Just add some layers and side-swept bangs that hit past the nose, and you have an effortless look!

Slightly longer, the blunt bob is a great haircut that sits a little above the shoulders. It looks very  fashionable parted down the center and pinned straight. The blunt bob looks great for a day at the office or for an interview. Or, for a messier, more casual (but still stylish) day-do, part it off center, and add some sea salt spray for a “fresh from the ocean” look. To give the look depth, since this style usually doesn’t have any layers, try throwing in some lowlights. It will give the hair extra dimension.

 This is definitely a style that takes some courage to try, but I think will be very rewarding, especially how fast you’ll be able to get ready in the morning! Just look at the beautiful Jessica Alba sporting the blunt bob in the picture below.

If you’re not ready to take the plunge with a much shorter do like the short or blunt bob, you can try the next best thing: the longer bob with layers. There are many celebrities that are rocking this look, and with good reason. It’s a very versatile style. hairdo that doesn’t go much longer than past the shoulders.

The layers in the hair give it that little something extra for styling and volume so the hair isn’t so flat. The trick is to ask for medium-to-long layers when at the salon. Kim Kardashian does it best lately with her new length. She adds some tousled waves, and it looks edgy and sophisticated.
