By Francisco Romero.- This time Madison Bumgarner came in relief, but the result was the same; he pitched 5 shutout innings and guided the Giants to a 3-2 victory of the Kansas City Royals.

The Giants won their eighth World Series as a franchise and the third in the last five years.

Veteran Pitcher Tim Hudson started for the Giants, but lasted only 1.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, he walked 1 and struck out 1.

Pence scored on a sacrifice fly from Brandon Crawford, making the score 2-0.

The Royals tied the game in the bottom of the second inning; Billy Butler scored on a double from Alex Gordon and Gordon scored on a sacrifice fly from Omar Infante.

The Giants took the lead in the forth inning and never looked back.

In the Bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and the bases empty, Royals’ Alex Gordon singled and moved to third on an error, but Bumgarner was able to get Salvador Perez to pop out to third base to seal the win.

Working on two days rest, Madison Bumgarner came to pitch in the top of the 5th inning, allowing two hits, no runs and struck out four.

“I was just concentrating on making pitches. I wasn’t thinking about how many innings I was going to go or how many pitches or anything of that, just thinking about getting outs,” said Bumgarner after the game.

Bumgarner was named World Series MVP.

“The odds weren’t very good on us winning this game. To accomplish it, I just think that the guys, too, that haven’t gotten a ring, the Hudsons, the Morses, and all these young kids, that’s what makes this so much more special,” said Giants manager Bruce Bochy after the game.
